Your goal in this activity is to determine the function that converts the input values into output values. There are two steps.

First, drag the balls representing the inputs and drop them into the machine one at a time.

The function machine will produce an output for each input based on the hidden function.

After you have dropped at least three inputs into the machine, use the pull-down menus to create the function that produced the corresponding output shown on the right.

The program will indicate which of the input/output pairs would be produced by the function you have created. Input/output pairs that would not be produced by your function will be darkened.

Keep trying until you have a perfect match.
